What Is Restorative Dentistry?

The term “restorative dentistry” is used by dental professionals worldwide to categorise various dental procedures and techniques. These are used to restore teeth to good health. Many procedures can be considered restorative dentistry with some being more complex than others. The key objective of restorative dentistry is to give patients a functional, attractive smile.

Crowns, or “caps,” as they are sometimes called, are custom-created covers for teeth that have had a root canal (leaving minimal tooth structure), cracked or weakened teeth or teeth that are badly decayed. We offer both porcelain and gold crowns to help restore your smile. Read more >>

Dental Implants

Implants are made of a titanium screw and a post. These are covered with a bridge, crown or denture. We place the implant into the jawbone, where it takes the place of the tooth root. After a period of several months, the implant attaches to the bone. The result is the implant looks and functions as a natural tooth.

Before implants can be provided, you need to be evaluated to ensure there is enough bone available to secure the implant. Impressions will be taken to provide the necessary mold to make a customised implant. Dr Mark Chung (Dentist) offers both traditional dental implants and mini dental implants. Read more >>

I’ve lost a tooth. What options do you offer to replace it?

We offer several excellent options to replace your missing tooth. When you come in for a consultation, our dentist will examine your mouth and ask you what your smile goals are. Then, he will go over the available treatment options with you. We will create a personalised treatment plan to restore your smile. Here are some of the tooth replacement options we may discuss with you:

  • Dental bridges
  • Dental implants
  • Complete or partial dentures

Why should I have restorative work performed instead of having the tooth pulled?

Preserving your natural tooth is typically better for your long-term oral health and function. Dr Chung (Dentist) won’t recommend a tooth extraction unless it’s causing harm to your other teeth and oral health. A significant benefit of tooth restoration is you can retain your natural tooth longer. You also can continue to enjoy an attractive smile without requiring more extensive and costly treatments.

What will my restorative treatment cost?

The cost of your treatment is dependent on how badly damaged your teeth are and the type of treatment required to completely restore them. Our dental office will furnish you with a detailed estimate of your cost before giving your treatment. We also offer convenient payment plans so you can get the treatment you want and pay for it over time.
