The standard insertion protocol for mini dental implants calls for fourof them to be gently screwed into the front of a patient's lower jaw.For the upper full dentures, 6 is recommended generally. 3.Prior to any surgery, we always carry out a strictpreoperative assessment,includingan absolute medical history  and ordering:

a/a special whole jaw x-ray(OPG)and also

b/lowdoseradiation jaw CTscan which acts as asurgical guide forthe implant surgery procedure.

These Xrays and CT scan are CRITICAL as they act as the road map forideal implant placementand positioning to avoid important anatomicalstructures such as nerves and blood vessels.The CT scan gives us anexact 1 to 1 dimension so we know exactly where to pace the implantsand what exact lengths and components will be required.

On someoccasions,MiniDental Implants CANNOT, and SHOULD NOT be done.Wewilladvise you so after a throrough clinical examination and afterreadingthe Xray and CT scan.Somemedical conditions,medications which you may be using or bonequality, quantity and topography of the jaw bone maybe inadequate suchthat after the above investigations,we will informyou that Mini Dental Implants are unfortunately notsuitable or possible and that alternative solutions arerequired instead.
